Poverty in the Eastern Cape was worsened by COVID-19. The lack of digital skills and access to financing pose major challenges in recovery. Women-owned businesses in townships and rural areas struggle to access traditional bank loans due to gender biases. The pandemic emphasizes the need for alternative financing.
IbaliLam is a women’s business accelerator that seeks to catalyse job creation and reduce poverty in township and rural communities. We achieve this by empowering women-owned businesses with digital transformation, entrepreneurship development and access to financial resources.
Ibali Lam has two objectives:
To enhance digital adoption and innovation in women-owned businesses
Combine digital storytelling, intuitive AI tools and social media marketing to bolster online presence, amplify sales potential, and tailor strategies using AI-driven insights.
To enhance business skills and compliance in women-owned small businesses
Provide intensive business group and individualized coaching and mentorship to small business owners to become more competent, effective and compliant.
